We’re mobilizing rapid-response events on Presidents Day—Monday, 2/18—against Trump’s fake crisis and racist deportation force and to stop Trump’s dangerous and illegal power grab.
Events will be at noon
Join a #PresidentsDay protest to fight Trump’s fake crisis and racist deportation force. The President has declared a national emergency to thwart the legal political system that has told him “No.” He’s trying to take $8 billion from programs that actually need it, programs that could actually make a positive difference for national security and our immigration system among other things, to build a wall that which the majority of Americans don’t want, and which won’t actually fix the problems he’s worried about. Illegal immigration is at an all-time low, and physical barriers don’t deter migrants anyways. It’s not an emergency, and a waste of taxpayer dollars. Beyond just the wall is the real reason we need to protest – It’s a fake emergency, being used as an abuse of his presidential powers. There are checks and balances in our government to limit the President from having absolute powers, and he’s attempting to thwart those systems by pretending that there’s an emergency. We need to say “No” to authoritarianism. We need to stand up to bully politics and bully politicians, especially on this Presidents’ Day. Bring your flags, signs, dress in red, white, and blue – and show what real patriots look like!
